Kicking Baby

We wanted to share this with you guys. Our little guy is quite a mover... sometimes I wonder where he gets the traction to push as hard as he does. He's definitely getting ready to get out of my belly (and I'm getting ready too!). I think sometimes he might try the "busting out the top" route! Anyway, I was laying on the bed as Anthony was packing for a trip and the baby was getting a leg workout (it's the left side of my belly). Anthony figured he would try to catch it on video so we could show him someday. Hope you enjoy... it truly is a miracle! I've also attached a "pregnancy picture" of me and Anthony. We took it in our back yard with our new fake grass!

Baby Shower and Visit

In late March, Anthony's Mom and Grandmother came for a visit. It was Nana's first visit to Arizona! When we knew that they were coming we decided to have our baby shower that weekend so that they would be able to be here to be a part of it. My Mom was able to come out for the shower, too and it was very special to have them here!

My dear friends Jeanine and Cammy hosted the shower and it was beautiful and fun. It was also a good chance to see and catch-up with friends. And we received some beautiful and fun gifts for the baby. His nursery has an elephant theme and we got lots of cute elephant and Africa things. We also got some fun airplane / pilot stuff, too! The nursery is getting close to being ready for him, just need to get a few more basic things and we should be set. It's been a lot of fun getting it ready for him! I'm finally getting to the point of actually imagining him in the crib. We put together his swing the other day and I could really picture him in there! Anthony likes to pretend like he's picking him up out of the crib in the morning!

Anthony also took his Mom and Nana up north to Flagstaff, Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Nana really enjoyed it and she and Carla took the plane ride over the Canyon. Arizona really is a beautiful place. They also were able to get into our pool at our house in Scottsdale (it was snowing in Maine!). The pool temperature is hovering around 72 degrees. It's still way too cold for me though. It was great to have them here and Nana (who is 89) told Carla that on her next trip to Arizona she wants to go to Vegas, too! The baby has some good strong genes in his gene pool!

April Ultrasound

Hey All,

Anthony here - just checking in with you all. It has been awhile since I've written anything. I hope I can still use words to make sentences and paragraphs! Anyhow, we had our latest ultrasound last Monday and Jr. is still doing great! Here is what we found out. We confirmed he is a boy (he gave us a good view!) and he is a BIG boy, and may come early! For me, I just can't wait to meet him. I know he still has some growing and developing to do, but it will be so cool to see what he looks like and to see his little personality. The other good thing is that our house is getting back to normal after some renovations and we are now somewhat ready for his physical arrival. Not only is the house ready, but I'm ready. The hospital has a class called Daddy Boot Camp. New dads go to learn the basics on babies. We even practiced changing diapers and swaddling on baby dolls! I have a Daddy Boot Camp T-Shirt to prove I was there. The real learning curve will be in a couple months at about 3am when he's dirty, hungry, and screaming! We attached an ultrasound pic that shows his hand and a profile of his little face. We decided not to do the 4D ultrasound because we just want to wait until we see him in person to know what he looks like!

Last month I flew the airplane nonstop from Scottsdale to West Palm Beach. We had to take a life raft with us because we went over the Gulf of Mexico. The overnight wasn't bad. My copilot and I had dinner at this Pub/Brewery place overlooking this outdoor mall area. The best part of the meal was the Caprese salad. There were huge slices of tomato, mozzarella, and basil leaves with olive oil and balsamic. I don't know if I'm alone here, but I usually find the salad better than the meal. I think its because I like salads, but its probably because I'm hungry when the salad comes and when the salad is gone, I'm still slightly hungry and wanting just a little more. The main course is usually HUGE and at the end of that I can hardly to stand to look at it. End of digression.

On another note we bought a condo with Angie's parents! It's two bedroom and two bath condo right near our house! It has a one car garage and all new interior from appliances to carpet! We are pretty excited about it. Our families will be using it when they come out and visit and it will also be available for rent if anyone is interested. It's in Scottsdale so its near all the hot spots, and we'd rather rent it to friends than people we don't even know. Here is the link for the complex.http://www.scottsdalehaciendas.com/.
