Little get away.

Thanks to my parents for watching the boys for a few days while Anthony and I got away to...

 Seattle!

What a great city! Especially when we got 2 out 4 days of sun! I had a work meeting, so Anthony tagged along and we combined a little kidless vacation onto the trip. We took the ferry to Bainbridge Island, walked around a ton and caught up with some of my mining friends!

And since we were at a mining event, I thought I would throw in this picture of me at a recent visit to our mine south of Tucson... gotta love big mining equipment!

  We had some great meals and Anthony enjoyed a few huge oyster shooters at Pike Place Market. We visited the original Starbuck's and were glad that buying Starbuck's in Seattle meant buying local for a change. 

We saw lots of things that reminded us of the kids and thought this sign was pretty appropriate for Hunter's initials. He's often hungry and you can't help but be harried when he's around!

And I have to note that before we left Hunter had his first prescription... our 2nd dose of amoxicillin and our first ear ache. I think it was pretty good that we made it a combined 5 1/2 years without one! And Hunter almost made it 2 years with only going for his well visits. So thankful for the blessing of healthy kids!

Fast boy.

Braden has been enjoying riding his bike lately. It took some time for him to get interested in it. Now he wants to go for a ride most days. The other day he was complaining about his legs being sore and I realized it was his hamstrings from riding his bike to the park and back! He likes going fast and told me today I should start calling him "Fast Boy!"

 There could not be a more fitting title for Hunter... we had fun at the Jambo Park for Toby's birthday party!

 We went to Reagan's party this weekend, too. Hunter LOVES pushing around baby strollers. He always does it at Kyndal's house, too. Braden went to the store with me to get the presents for the parties. He was fine with Toby's tractor, but when I put the Barbie in the cart he said "What is THAT? That is too girly." Yes, Braden, I'm glad we won't be getting Barbie's either.

 Hunter decided to lay on a balloon and pop it at the party. This lead to every other kid then doing the same thing and all the balloons getting popped! Well... at least he's a leader, I guess! Here he's getting ready to say "pop."

 Both boys are into bugs these days and they found one!

Catching up.

Braden finished up his first t-ball session today. He enjoyed it and they do a great job with the kids at B.E.S.T. He'll be doing t-ball again next session and Hunter is going to try Soccer Tots! Oh my... that will be interesting.

We went for a trolley ride on the trolley that goes right by the condo.

It was fun!

My Mom and I got to go to the Science Center's Galaxy Gala. It was tons of fun and I was glad to get to share the experience with my beautiful Mom!

We took a little road trip up to Carefree. They have this super cool Gila monster slide!

Braden went to the Parada del Sol with my parents. Happy 100th Birthday, Arizona! He loved the parade and couldn't believe they threw candy right to him!

Hunter loves to snuggle in a little spot between the coach and where the living room is sunken. 

Go Duke! So much fun watching them come from behind and beat Carolina at home. Oh yeah!

The Yanovitch's had to have their water main fixed, so it was fun watching the tractors do their work.

Picking oranges

We're enjoying our orange trees again this year!

Anthony and I had fun at the Phoenix Open at the tee on 16!

Eggs, chocolate and breakfast with giraffes.

Our "behind-us" neighbors have chickens and we've watched them grow up (and one has been daring enough to jump the fence into our yard!). Kim gave us some eggs the other day and the boys had them for breakfast today. Braden kept calling them chicken eggs... I honestly don't know if he really put together where they came from prior to this morning! We're hoping they'll be our egg source from now on! 

 We decided it was time to check out the annual Chocolate Affaire that happens every year in Glendale considering Braden's love of chocolate (yes, he takes after his Mom!). 

 He got to make a chocolate pizza.

 These are my kind of toppings - marshmallows were onions, walnuts were mushrooms, mint circles were pepperoni. It was a hit (and he even shared it with his brother)!

 We went to the breakfast with the giraffes program at the Zoo.

 I think the grownups enjoyed it more than the kiddos! We got to go to their night house, meet their keeper, learn fun things about them and feed them.

 They liked meeting us, too!

 My Mom came along and got in on the action, too!

 They had lots of cute crafts for the kids to do.

 We stopped by Stingray Bay on the way out.

 Braden would have stayed there for hours! He loved petting those crazy things!
