We had an awesome weekend. Braden was great and we didn't have anything going on. It was really nice. We slept in (that's til 7 these days!) and ran some errands. Braden actually slept 12-hours last night! He did wake up and fuss a couple of times during the night though and actually had a nightmare where he really cried out and almost scared me to death!
Braden had a bunch more firsts this weekend. He went to daycare and stayed without us for a couple of hours on Friday. Anthony did the taking and picking-up, so I still haven't had to deal with it directly and I'm not looking forward to it. Braden cried when Anthony left. They had a little Fall Festival at the center on Thursday night that we went to. It was nice to meet the teachers and see that the other parents who have their kids there are normal. It made it a little better. As of right now, I'll have my first drop-off this Friday because Anthony is going to Maine for the weekend. Thankfully Braden doesn't have to go everyday, all day. I couldn't do it if that was the case.
Braden had cereal for the first time this weekend. I don't think he was overly impressed! He basically likes his food easy and fast (like his Dad) and cereal is neither of the 2 for him right now! He really won't even nurse anymore because the bottle is so much faster and easier for him. The only time I can really get him to nurse is when he is tired before bed at night and that isn't always a given. He took the cereal in well, but the swallowing was the hard part for him. We would think he got it down and then a few seconds later he would smile or spit and it would come rolling down his chin! He seemed to get more of the hang of it by Sunday night's serving (his 3rd). He's supposed to have cereal first and then some bottle, but I think the other way around is what is going to work for him.
Another new thing was that he tried his exersaucer for the first time. He LOVED it! He thought he was the coolest thing ever in that thing! He instantly started checking out all the different toys. He loved being able to stand up and also being independent. It was so much fun to watch him in it!
We ran into Lowe's to get a new light for our dining room (that Anthony did a great job putting up yesterday!). The sun was in Braden's eyes, so Anthony put his sunglasses on him. Didn't seem to phase him in the least! He just sat there with them on for the longest time! Here's a pic.
It's back to work tomorrow. Monday's are always hard. Braden is so much fun right now that it makes it even harder. It will be my first morning doing cereal before work, so hopefully it will go ok!
