We found out some good news about our sponsored child today. He is in kindergarten at the new school in Mairowa! We were so glad to find out that he gets the opportunity to attend this school (they add one grade per year and limit the class size to 30 children, so he's in the inaugural class). There is a public school in Mairowa, but it is hardly what you can call an education for the children who attend. The school that our church operates hires teachers who are trained at a teacher training college in Arusha. The children who attend truly have the opportunity for a quality education for the first time in their life and we are SO glad that Samweli is one of the children who gets that opportunity. This is his school picture. It's amazing how much he has changed from the first picture that we got of him when he was assigned as our sponsored child... the smile says it all! We can't wait for the day when our new little baby gets a chance to meet his "brother" in Tanzania!
